Disability is a physical or mental impairment that interferes with the performance of a child or an individual. Many disabled children have demonstrated the capacity to excel, but they have to cross a lot of hurdles. In India, the disabled population is a significant section as they constitute to 20.2% of the total population. There is an urgent need to enable them to live a life with dignity.

JKF began its fight for the dignity of the special children by supporting care giving centers. JKF volunteered to support Kamarajar Karunya Ilam (CKKI), Tirunelveli, whenever they passed through troubled times. KKI is an integrated school and home for children with special needs. Genuine concern and belief in these children’s abilities can do wonders for these children.

JKF partnered with Sun Mary Trust to endeavour education to deaf, blind, mentally retarded, multiple disabled, and loco-motor disabled children to pursue higher studies and engage in gainful employment.
